The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division, reported that on 11/05/2024, members of the Hadath police station received information about four children left at the Al-Laykhi roundabout, specifically:
- B. M. (4 months)
- K. M. (3 years)
- A. M. (8 years)
- S. M. (9 years)
Immediately, a patrol went to the location and brought the children to the police station. Following inquiries and investigations, it was revealed that their father, H. M. (born in 1991, Lebanese), was responsible for abandoning them.
Further investigation indicated that the abandonment was due to a dispute between him and their mother (his first wife), H. M., who no longer wished to support them. The children remained at the station as relevant organizations were unable to take custody of them. The officers cared for the children, provided them with food, and worked to secure special needs for the infant girl. The children spent the night at the police station.
On 12/05/2024, the parents refused to take custody of the children, who were then handed over to their father's second wife, N. A. (born in 1986, Lebanese). Efforts are ongoing to detain both parents based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.
