Mohammed bin Zayed: The UAE is Committed to Establishing an Integrated Artificial Intelligence System for Energy Sustainability

The President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participated in a G7 session on artificial intelligence and energy titled "Energy and Artificial Intelligence... Africa and the Mediterranean Region," which was opened by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who chairs her country’s G7 summit.

At the start of his speech, the UAE President expressed gratitude to Giorgia Meloni for inviting him to participate in this important session. He stated that "the world is currently facing many challenges, which are particularly reflected in the Middle East and the African continent, especially in the field of energy." He emphasized that "it is essential for all of us to address this challenge through cooperation and by harnessing emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to provide sustainable solutions in the energy sector," according to WAM.

He confirmed "the UAE's commitment to establishing an integrated artificial intelligence system, whether through programs, legislation, or initiatives and partnerships with friends, to effectively employ these technologies in delivering effective solutions for energy sustainability, ensuring security, and achieving sustainable economic and social development, as well as a fair and logical transition in the energy sector, based on the 'UAE Climate Agreement' which served as a model for international cooperation and collaborative efforts."

The UAE President expressed hope that this important meeting will lay the groundwork for a new phase of collective action that ensures responsible engagement with emerging technologies, so they do not widen the developmental gap between countries or exacerbate international polarization, but instead contribute to sustainable development, security, and prosperity for all.
