In the months leading up to the U.S. elections, three Republican lawmakers in several key swing states are drafting legislation to remove President Joe Biden from the ballots in Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, according to Newsmax. State representatives Aaron Bernstein from Pennsylvania, Charles Bird from Georgia, and Corey McGarr from Arizona stated that they are resisting the "judicial war" launched against former President Donald Trump following a Colorado Supreme Court ruling that removed him from the ballot there. The lawmakers wrote: "We are uniting our efforts to introduce legislation to remove Joe Biden from the ballot in Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania." "The absurdity of extreme Democratic judges removing Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado will be a stain on the American political system for decades. According to their own interpretation of the law, Joe Biden is 100% unqualified to run for political office." The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Trump could be disqualified under the Fourteenth Amendment due to the insurrection clause. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to hear the case and overturn it, as only Congress, not state courts, can define and act on insurrection, constitutional scholar Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax on Thursday. Regardless, the lawmakers claim they are fighting fire with fire, stating, "The radicals in Colorado just changed the rules of the game, and we will not sit idly by while they destroy our republic." They added: "To be clear, our goal is to highlight the absurdity of Colorado's decision and to allow all candidates to participate in ballots across all states. To do this, we as Republicans must fight against the communists currently running our great country."
