"Black Ring" Appears in the Sky Over a U.S. State: What’s the Story?

A mysterious black ring that appeared in the sky over Virginia has sparked considerable debate among passersby who rushed to capture photos of it. Spectators took numerous pictures of the black ring from various angles, which hovered in the northern part of the city, starting around 11 a.m. last Tuesday, according to WAVY TV 10. However, the potential "smoke" ring completely dissipated within 10 minutes, as reported by Ron Stepp, one of the many individuals who sent footage to the local station. Several viewers of WAVY-TV 10 contacted the station with images and videos of the ominous-looking ring floating in the sky. There have been various theories regarding its cause, including possible explosions, but officials told WAVY they had not heard of any in the area at that time. Some witnesses speculated that a fire or explosion might have led to this strange phenomenon, but no such incident has been reported in the area when the ring appeared, according to officials from the James City County Fire Department. Ricky Matthews, a meteorologist at the station, believes that the strange ring is likely the result of a concentrated fire rising, possibly associated with fireworks prepared for a film.
