G7 foreign ministers held a video meeting today to discuss the situation in the Middle East. In this context, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated in a statement, "Together with our partners, we expressed deep concern over the recent events that threaten to give the crisis a regional dimension, starting with Lebanon." The statement issued by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which holds the presidency of the G7, said: "We call on the parties involved to refrain from any initiative that could hinder the path of dialogue and moderation and lead to new escalation." The statement added: "The ministers emphasized the priority of achieving a positive outcome for the negotiations regarding a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages while intensifying humanitarian aid."
