The movement "Hamas" announced that it has reached an agreement with other Palestinian factions on a "national solution" based on forming a "unity government." It added that the Palestinian factions expressed their rejection of Israeli and Western scenarios for the post-war situation in Gaza.
In a statement, the movement clarified that it and other factions, including "Islamic Jihad Movement," "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine," "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command," and "Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine," agreed to propose several suggestions, including "calling for a comprehensive and binding national meeting that includes all parties without exception, to implement what has been agreed upon in previous national dialogues."
The factions also agreed to "develop and strengthen the Palestinian political system on democratic foundations through general elections (presidential, legislative, and national council elections), according to a system of full proportional representation in free, fair, and transparent elections in which everyone participates, thereby rebuilding internal relations based on the principles and standards of national coalition and partnership."
The five Palestinian factions held a meeting in Beirut, emphasizing "the necessity of a ceasefire and an end to all acts of Zionist aggression permanently, and the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, as a condition before conducting a prisoner exchange on a basis of all for all."
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to begin a new tour in the region, his fourth since the outbreak of the war, while Egyptian-Qatari mediation efforts continue to reach a ceasefire agreement in the sector.
Diaa Rashwan, head of the Egyptian General Authority for Information, stated yesterday that "Egypt confirms it has not yet received any responses to the proposed framework from any of the concerned parties, and when responses are received, the proposal will be formulated in detail and fully announced to the public," without providing further details. However, earlier Egyptian security sources indicated that the proposal includes a phased ceasefire and that the idea of managing Gaza after the war has been raised.
Additionally, yesterday tens of thousands of families were displaced once again amid a new wave of mass displacement in central Gaza, as Israel intensified its attack on areas crowded with those displaced from northern the sector.
