The event was held yesterday at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting, and Golf Club, as the sixth race of the current season, featuring 9 races for purebred and mixed-breed horses with a total prize pool of 645,000 dirhams.
"Beloved," owned by Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei and trained by Ibrahim Al Habari, with Connor Beasley as the jockey, led the race with a margin of 3.5 lengths, finishing in 3:50:37 minutes, confirming her worthiness of the "Al Ain Marathon" title, which she won in three rounds last season.
The horse "Yorman," owned by Ahmed, Aisha, and Abdul Rahman Mohammed Khalil, and trained by Boubat Simar, with Taj Oshi as the jockey, won the mixed-breed horses' "equal weight" race in the first race over 2000 meters, claiming the "Jebel Hafit" title with a prize of 60,000 dirhams, finishing in 2:07:50 minutes.
The horse "Sunny De Loop," trained by Hamad Al Marar, secured a second victory for jockey Taj Oshi, winning the second race over 2000 meters for the "Sih Ben Amar" title with a prize of 85,000 dirhams, finishing in 2:17:22 minutes.
The horse "Kosmos De Faust," owned by Ziyad Kaldari and trained by Ibrahim Asil, with Sandro Piva as the jockey, claimed the title in the third race over 1400 meters for the "Al Wathba Stallions" Cup for novice Arabian horses, with a prize pool of 70,000 dirhams, finishing in 1:37:47 minutes, sponsored by the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival.
The horse "A.S. Ajab," owned by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, gave trainer Ibrahim Asil and jockey Sandro Piva a second victory after winning the fourth race over 1600 meters for the "Al Sarooj" title, with a prize pool of 70,000 dirhams, for purebred Arabian horses "UAE bred," with a time of 1:53:72 minutes.
The horse "Raa'd Lmbarak," owned by Al Asail Stables, trained by Denis O'Brien and ridden by Richard Mullen, topped the Arabian novice horses' race "Division One" in the fifth race over 1800 meters for the "Al Saad" title, with a prize of 45,000 dirhams, finishing in 2:07:65 minutes.
The horse "Kashmir," owned by Khamis Abdullah Al Abri, trained by Mohammed Al Mehrouqi and ridden by Abdul Aziz Al Balushi, won the second division for novice purebred Arabian horses with a prize of 45,000 dirhams in the sixth race for the "Al Maqam" title over 1800 meters, finishing in 2:07:47 minutes.
The horse "Al Arqam," owned by Nasser Askar, trained by Musbah Al Mehairi, and ridden by Taj Oshi achieved a "triple" win in the challenge of the seventh race over 1800 meters for the "Awdat Al Tawbah" title with a prize pool of 80,000 dirhams, securing a victory margin of 5.75 lengths, finishing in 2:04:98 minutes.
The horse "Ramiz Muscat," owned by Muscat Stud for Arabian Horses, trained by Ibrahim Al Habari, and ridden by Sam Hatchcote clinched the title in the eighth race over 1800 meters for the "Al Jahili" title with a prize of 80,000 dirhams, finishing in 2:05:53 minutes.
The race witnessed the attendance of His Excellency Faisal Al Rahmani, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival, who crowned the winners.
