Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk reported that Ukraine targeted a Russian military unit near Yevpatoria in the Crimea Peninsula on Thursday. Oleschuk stated on Telegram: "Thanks to the pilots of the Air Force and everyone who planned the operation for carrying out a well-executed combat mission," referring to a video clip from local media indicating that the unit was attacked.
In Sevastopol, reports indicated two strikes in the bay area, along with explosions being heard in Yevpatoria.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated earlier that its forces thwarted the Ukrainian attack.
On another note, Ukrainian officials reported on Thursday that a Russian missile strike on the city of Kropyvnytskyi in central Ukraine resulted in one death, damage to energy facilities, and power outages for civilians and railways. The Ukrainian national electricity transmission company (Ukrenergo) mentioned that one of the targeted facilities was related to repairs and power generation. They added: "The damages did not cause any disruption to the main network."
It is still unclear what the other targeted facility was, but it is associated with a different electricity operator. The Ministry of Energy in a separate statement noted that repair crews are working to restore power supplies that were disrupted by the attack for local consumers and railways.
Regional governor Andriy Raykovych stated in a briefing that Russia likely used an X-59 missile. He reported: "Ordinary people were injured while they were working... Unfortunately, a worker was killed. A simple car repair worker." Official data showed at least seven injuries.
