Arrest of 17 Haredi Jews During Protests

Israeli Channel 12 reported that "security forces arrested 17 Haredi Jews during protests in the north of the country, in rejection of their conscription into the army." Israeli media reported that clashes occurred between the police and young Haredim near a military camp in Galilee, as well as near the Alon military base, as part of their ongoing protests against military service.

The Israeli army has issued conscription orders to the Haredim in recent weeks after the Supreme Court ruled last June that all Israelis, including religious ones, must perform military service.
