# Crime Shakes Iraq: Man Kills 8, 5 from His Family with a Kalashnikov

A horrific crime has shaken the streets of Iraq, as a man shot and killed 8 people, 5 of whom were family members, in the Al-Ankour area of eastern Anbar province. A video captured the moment a gunman opened fire on two men, fatally shooting one who was sitting on the sidewalk, while the other appears to have fled.

The video also showed the armed individual entering a grocery store and randomly shooting at 4 shoppers, resulting in two of them falling to the ground, with the motives for the attack still unknown.

This mass killing in Anbar province took place without any apparent reason, as the assailant took an assault rifle and opened fire on people both in the streets and inside shops. To date, the death toll stands at 8, including women, along with multiple injuries.

Recent reports indicate that security forces were able to apprehend the suspect. According to a security source, the assailant targeted his family members and several individuals using a "Kalashnikov" weapon. The victims included his wife (a cousin), her parents, her sisters, a local shop owner, and two passersby. The source noted that the dispute arose when his in-laws came to take his wife back to their home due to his addiction to drugs and alcohol, leading them to lose hope in his reform attempts.

The incident has left the local community in shock.
