Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong indicated today, Friday, that "a review conducted by the Australian government regarding the killing of aid workers in Gaza concluded that a significant failure to follow procedures by the Israeli military led to airstrikes on their vehicles." Wong emphasized that "Australia will advocate for full accountability for those responsible, including pursuing criminal charges if necessary." She stated in a statement, "The Israeli military prosecutor still needs to decide on further actions." She added, "We still expect transparency regarding the military prosecutor's process and decision." Israeli airstrikes in April killed seven employees of the "Central World Kitchen" in Gaza, provoking widespread condemnation from the United States and several other countries. Among the deceased were citizens from Australia, Britain, Poland, as well as Palestinians and an individual holding dual citizenship from the United States and Canada. The Israeli military described the incident at that time as a "tragic mistake" that should not have occurred.
