Russia announced today, Saturday, that it repelled Ukrainian attacks near three Russian towns in the Kursk region and destroyed three helicopters and a Ukrainian bomber. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that the Ukrainian army is "strengthening" its positions in Kursk. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it "repelled" the Ukrainian army near three towns in the Kursk region, which has been experiencing an unprecedented ground attack across the border by Ukrainian forces since August 6. The ministry's statement indicated that Russian soldiers "repelled" Ukrainian attacks "in the direction of the Korenevo, Ruskoye, and Cherkasskoye Borichnoe areas."
The Russian defense confirmed that Russian forces destroyed a Su-24 bomber, two Mi-8 military helicopters, and a third Mi-17 helicopter belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force, in addition to two American HIMARS missiles. The Russian defense also stated that two radar stations of the American Patriot system, a radar station of the German IRIS-T air defense system, and a launcher from the S-125 anti-aircraft missile system were also "destroyed," along with the targeting of four warehouses containing missile, artillery, and ammunition supplies, as well as warehouses for Ukrainian manpower and military equipment in 157 areas.
