An security source reported the arrest of five individuals belonging to a movement known as "Al-Qurban" on the route of visitors heading to Karbala province. The source told "Baghdad Today" that security forces seized materials from the individuals, including books titled "Traveling to the Hereafter," associated with the "deviant Al-Qurban movement," in addition to a bag containing 500 napkins featuring the flag of the former regime and the logo of Saddam's Fadai. The group was taken to a security center as part of standard procedures.
Days ago, the Iraqi National Security Agency announced the infiltration of the "Qurbanis" or "Ali Allahiya" movement, arresting more than 30 members in the provinces of Wasit, Basra, and Dhi Qar, following five recorded cases of suicide among their ranks, all under the age of 22, who were allegedly committing suicide by "lot" as a sacrifice to Imam Ali (PBUH).
An informed source revealed on July 5, 2024, that high orders had been issued to pursue the "Qurban" group in central and southern provinces to prevent them from evolving into armed factions that could harm the security stability of the country.
