Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians early this Monday and caused parts of the central vegetable market to catch fire during their incursion into the eastern part of Nablus. Local and security sources informed the Palestinian news agency "Wafa" that a large number of Israeli army troops, accompanied by a military bulldozer, stormed the eastern area of the city and spread around "Joseph's Tomb" to secure the entry of settlers to the shrine, which led to clashes in the area.
Wafa reported that Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters heavily in the region while an Israeli bulldozer deliberately dragged burning tires from the street into the central vegetable market, resulting in fire igniting in parts of it and causing significant damage.
It was noted that Israeli forces hindered the work of firefighting crews, firing tear gas canisters at them, which led to four firefighters suffering from suffocation. Despite this, the crews managed to control the fire that affected two stores within the market.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that they dealt with four cases of suffocation among journalists during the Israeli forces' incursion into Nablus.
In this context, Israeli forces arrested a young man, Ezzedine Shakhsheer, from the Balata neighborhood after raiding, searching, and tampering with his home contents. Shortly after their withdrawal, Israeli forces reentered Nablus from the Jabal al-Tur area, raiding several homes in the old town and arresting two young men, Abdullah al-Sayah and Muhammad al-Dabeek.
