The Lebanese swimming team shone at the Arab Water Sports Championship held in the Qatari capital, Doha, and celebrated its achievement by winning the championships for the girls’ categories of 13-14 years and 15-16 years. Meanwhile, Tunisia took the title for the boys' 13-14 years category, and Qatar won the 15-16 years category, while Algeria secured the championship for the youth categories of 17-18 years for both boys and girls. Lebanese swimmers collected a total of 55 medals across various events, achieving 24 golds, which matches the performance of Algeria, along with 16 silver medals and 15 bronze medals, in addition to a new record set by Tia Obeid in the 50-meter breaststroke for the 13-14 year category with a time of 33.39 seconds.
On the third day of the championship, Obeid clinched a gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:15.31 minutes, and another gold was won by Lena Hajj in the 100-meter breaststroke for the 15-16 year category with a time of 1:11.32 minutes. Lena Hajj also added a gold for Lebanon in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:25.26 minutes, while the silver medal in that race went to Lori Aouad with a time of 2:25.95. Taline Mourad won a gold medal in the 200-meter backstroke for the 15-16 year category with a time of 2:24.29 minutes.
Maya Al-Zein secured a silver in the 50-meter freestyle for the 13-14 year category with a time of 29.05 seconds, while Lana Hijazi earned a silver in the 1500-meter freestyle for the 15-16 year category with a time of 19:52.00 minutes, and Wafaa Sablooh claimed silver in the 1500-meter freestyle for the 17-18 year category with a time of 18:32.70 minutes. Additionally, Sofia Chantiri won two bronze medals in the 50-meter freestyle for the 15-16 year category with a time of 28.72 seconds, and Karan Ibrahim in the 100-meter breaststroke for the 13-14 year category with a time of 1:17.77 minutes. Karl Ghanem finished second in the 50-meter freestyle for the 17-18 year category with a time of 23.68 seconds, and Ahmad Safiya also finished second in the 200-meter individual medley for the same category with a time of 2:10.13 minutes. Majid Hijazi claimed bronze in the 1500-meter freestyle for the 17-18 year category with a time of 16:35.77 minutes.
On the final day of the championship, the Lebanese team amassed 7 golds, 1 silver, and 6 bronzes. In the 13-14 year category for girls, Karan Ibrahim won gold in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:46.15 minutes. Additionally, Sky Aoun, Tia Obeid, Maya Zain, and Angela Domanyan won gold in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 4:40.06 minutes. Tia Obeid also earned a silver in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:46.17 minutes.
In the 15-16 year category for girls, Lori Aouad secured gold in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:04.34 minutes, Karan Ibrahim won gold in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:43.55 minutes, Lana Hijazi claimed gold in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:35.41 minutes, and Taline Mourad won gold in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:07.17 minutes. Sofia Chantiri earned a bronze in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:06.86 minutes. In the 17-18 year category for women, Yendi Abu Aissa won bronze in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:11.10 minutes, and Rein Hijazi clinched bronze in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 3:08.31 minutes. Ahmad Safiya also won bronze in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 58.40 seconds. The Lebanese delegation was led by the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Swimming Federation, Farid Abi Raad, and included coaches George Yazbek, François Ghattas, and Mohammad Saqar.
