Who is "Abu Muntadhar"?
- "Abu Muntadhar" held the rank of "Major General" and is named Tahseen Abdul Matar Al-Abboudi.
- Al-Abboudi was responsible for security in the Green Zone in central Baghdad in 2019 and was appointed to this position by direct orders from the late Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, who was killed in an American airstrike in Iraq in 2020.
- Al-Abboudi was close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
- Before his appointment in Baghdad, Al-Abboudi was a military advisor to former Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, and his mission was related to Popular Mobilization Forces affairs.
- Al-Abboudi was born in Baghdad in 1961 and joined the Badr Organization in 1987 after being captured in Iran during the eight-year war; he held the rank of lieutenant at that time.
- He underwent several military courses in Iran under the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
- Upon his return to Iraq, Al-Abboudi attained a high rank (Major General) according to the principle of amalgamation in the armed forces.
- Al-Abboudi held a parliamentary seat in one of the previous sessions, representing the Badr parliamentary bloc, and was a strong candidate for the position of Minister of Interior in Iraq.
