Massive Fire in Clothing Warehouse in Central Cairo

A massive fire broke out in the Al-Moski area of central Cairo in the early hours of this morning, igniting in a clothing warehouse on Al-Rweai Street, causing significant material losses. The operations room received a report about the fire in the warehouse located in a building on Al-Rweai Street, in front of the "Attaba Garage" in the Al-Moski area. Security forces and civil defense units were dispatched to the scene, where a security cordon was established.

Ten firefighting vehicles were sent to the location to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and shops, in an effort to manage the flames that had spread to clothing warehouses and electrical appliances. Civil defense forces successfully managed to control the fire without any fatalities or injuries; however, there were cases of smoke inhalation that were treated on-site amid a heavy security presence.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Moski Street and the Attaba area are commercial zones bustling with shops and markets, among the most crowded areas in Cairo. The early timing of the fire helped prevent many casualties and injuries. Egyptian authorities arrived at the scene to determine the causes of the fire and assess the material losses.

Preliminary investigations into the fire in the Al-Moski area revealed that it was caused by an electrical short circuit, which completely engulfed the building that housed several clothing warehouses and flammable materials. Notably, a nearby area experienced a large fire just a week ago, where a massive fire broke out in "Haret El-Yehud," resulting in approximately 12 casualties between deaths and injuries.
