The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced that "as a result of daily monitoring carried out by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to curb drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese regions, information was obtained about a network storing, packaging, distributing, and promoting drugs in the suburbs. Following that, the specialized units of the Information Division initiated field and investigative procedures to uncover the identities of the mentioned network members and apprehend them. As a result of intensive investigations, they were able to identify them, including: A. H. (born 1989, Lebanese), wanted under 5 judicial warrants, J. M. (born 1980, Lebanese), the wife of the first, and A. A. (born 1995, Lebanese).
On January 18, 2024, after a precise monitoring operation, the special unit executed a simultaneous operation that resulted in the arrest of the three individuals mentioned in the Jamous area, where a stolen motorcycle was seized from the third individual along with:
- 3 bags containing marijuana weighing 28.7 grams each
- 6 bags containing hashish weighing 23.3 grams each
- 9 plastic capsules containing cocaine, each weighing 4.8 grams
- 22 plastic capsules containing cocaine (net), each weighing 4.3 grams
- 20 plastic capsules containing cocaine (Pablo Escobar), each weighing 9.3 grams
- 4 plastic capsules containing cocaine (shabu), each weighing 4.7 grams
- 14 envelopes containing cocaine (gold), each weighing 2 grams
- 3 plastic capsules containing base (shabu), each weighing 4.4 grams
- 2 plastic bags containing cocaine (Pablo Escobar), each weighing 5.1 grams
- 3 plastic capsules containing base (extra base), each weighing 4.7 grams
- A sum of money totaling 7,515,000 Lebanese Lira and a mobile phone.
Upon searching the home of the first and second individuals located in the Jamous area, the following were seized:
- 6 plastic containers labeled "Montane. Antoni," each containing a white substance weighing approximately 11.6 grams
- 30 plastic containers labeled "Pablo Escobar," each containing a white substance weighing approximately 4.9 grams
- 36 plastic capsules labeled "Pablo Escobar," each containing a white substance weighing approximately 9.3 grams
- 101 plastic capsules labeled "Pablo Escobar," each containing a white stone-like substance weighing approximately 10 grams
- 76 plastic capsules containing white powder weighing approximately 4.8 grams each
- 50 plastic capsules containing a white stone-like substance weighing approximately 4.5 grams each
- 115 plastic capsules wrapped in nylon containing a white substance weighing approximately 4.9 grams each
- 15 plastic capsules containing a white stone-like substance labeled "buzz extra" weighing approximately 4.6 grams each
- 6 nylon bags containing a substance suspected to be hashish weighing approximately 13.7 grams each
- 125 plastic capsules containing white powder weighing approximately 4.3 grams each
- 10 transparent nylon bags containing a substance suspected to be marijuana weighing approximately 28 grams each
- 25 transparent nylon bags containing a substance suspected to be hashish weighing approximately 23.9 grams each
- 184 envelopes containing a substance labeled "gold" weighing approximately 2.2 grams each
- Additional amounts of cash and a mobile phone.
During the investigation, the first individual confessed to storing and distributing drugs to promoters on behalf of a dealer, and his wife admitted to assisting him with storage and distribution. The third individual confessed that he is active in drug promotion for the same dealer and operates using the motorcycle he was apprehended on.
Legal action was taken against them, and they were detained along with the seized items, based on the judiciary's indication."
