Kylian Mbappé, star of Real Madrid, has escalated his dispute with his former club Paris Saint-Germain to UEFA. According to the French newspaper "Le Monde," Mbappé has referred his complaint against Paris Saint-Germain to the legal committee of UEFA and the legal committee of the French league. This action comes due to his non-receipt of due salaries and bonuses totaling €55 million. Mbappé's lawyer had sent a notice to Paris Saint-Germain regarding this issue last June.
The French newspaper reported that the legal committee of the French league has disciplinary authority and could impose a transfer ban on Paris Saint-Germain if the French club fails to pay the amounts owed to the player. It clarified that clubs participating in UEFA competitions must provide evidence that they are not in arrears on staff salaries before February 28 of the licensing season, suggesting that UEFA may withdraw Paris’s license to participate in European competitions for the 2024-2025 season due to non-compliance with club licensing and financial viability regulations.
