Appointment of 69 Judges as Members in First Instance Courts

The Minister of Justice has reached an agreement with the presidency of the Supreme Judicial Council and its members to appoint 69 judges as additional members in first instance courts across various courthouses, based on two main criteria: priority and proximity to their places of residence, as reported in "Al-Jumhuriya." The statement from the Ministry of Justice reads: "The Minister of Justice, based on Decree No. 8376 dated 10/9/2021 (formation of the government), based on Legislative Decree No. 150 dated 156/9/1983 and its amendments (law of the judiciary), particularly Article 20 thereof, based on Decree No. 8492 dated 18/11/2021 (appointment of original judges in the judiciary at the Ministry of Justice), based on Decree No. 9906 dated 25/8/2022 (appointment of original judges in the judiciary at the Ministry of Justice), based on Decree No. 10650 dated 20/10/2022 (appointment of original judges in the judiciary at the Ministry of Justice), based on Decision No. 492 dated 3/8/2021 (attachment of original judges to the Ministry of Justice), based on Decision No. 1288 dated 18/11/2022 (attachment of original judges to the Ministry of Justice), based on Decision No. 1290 dated 18/11/2022 (attachment of original judges to the Ministry of Justice), based on the needs of the public interest and to ensure the proper functioning of the judicial institution, and after the approval of the Supreme Judicial Council, the following decision is made: Article One: The judges named below are appointed as additional members in the primary chambers in all governorates, as follows:

Beirut Governorate - Residence: Monala Zakhia Naeem, George Edward Chalouhi, Tatiana Antoine Karam,

North Lebanon Governorate: Lia Joseph Maroun, Jouheir Khalil Mikhaiel, Petra Abdo Al-Nashar, Amanda Emad Al-Madani, Faten Ibrahim Naddaf, Ahmed Faisal Haidar, Noor Ali Asaad, Randali Simon Zghib, Rasha Isaac Dela, Jessica Fahd Fahd.

Bekaa Governorate: Joanna Hussein Qatbi Fawaz, Sally Sami Abd Aime, Makram Samer Al-Mashtoub, George Shukrallah Hanna, Karan Rashid Ajami, Jorin Mohieddine Saleh, Nasif Adnan Al-Hakim.

South Lebanon Governorate: Alaa Hassan Shams Al-Din, Waseem Nazem Zahr Al-Din, Norma Hassan Shoman, Karam Ghassan Fawaz, Mary Rose Al-Qazi, Mira Sayed Al-Din, Dina Hassan Shahrour, Khaled Tay Madi, Anna Christina Gerji Al-Hakim, Lilian Walid Owaidat, Najib Jirj Biaraq, Noor Al-Sabah Ali Mazihim.

Mount Lebanon Governorate - Baabda: Simar Ma'in Jaber, Lia Habib Khoury, Ghaida Malik Hashim, Ryan Qasim Al-Akkoum, Yara Tannous Mashlab, Noor Mahmoud Al-Qaqour, Natalie Selim Rahim, Carmen Eli Mashlab, Fatima Hassan Bazi, Farah Mounzir Al-Haj, Anna Mansour Mansour.

Mount Lebanon Governorate - Jdeideh Metn: Ali Khalil Hadradj, Hussein Mohammed Murtada, Carla Shahin Shahin, Mahmoud Bassam Al-Hafi, Fayrouz Fayed Al-Bahri, Yara Antoine Said, Bia Fadi Zghib, Joel Saqr Saqr, Carla Nadim Dagher, Yara Michel Semaan.

Nabatieh Governorate: Rasha Mohammed Harbi, Reem Selim Al-Hajar, Muhammad Khair Zahir Qarafli, Farah Gandhi Masoud.

The remaining 12 judges have been distributed to legal bodies within the Ministry of Justice.
