Five years after the death of former ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, his wife, Asmaa Mohammed, revealed shocking secrets about the slain leader. Mohammed, who is currently detained in Iraq, stated in her first interview with Al Arabiya/Al Hadath that al-Baghdadi owned more than 10 Yazidi "sex slaves." However, she confirmed that she treated them kindly. She also noted that al-Baghdadi married an Iraqi girl who was nearly 13 years old, clarifying that she was the same age as his daughters.
Furthermore, she considered that both the ISIS leader and the leadership of his organization became obsessed with women, turning the "Caliphate" into a women’s state. Asmaa mentioned that "al-Baghdadi and his organization succumbed to their desires beyond the bounds of humanity," adding that her husband, who suffered from diabetes, "indulged in his desires after the announcement of the Caliphate."
After Asmaa Mohammed, the wife of former ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, appeared in an interview with Al Arabiya/Al Hadath on Thursday to reveal for the first time, five years after his death, secrets that had not yet been disclosed about the man who terrorized Syria and Iraq, Al Arabiya.net obtained the first photos of his children.
It showed that al-Baghdadi, who was married to four women, two of whom are detained, had 11 children, some of whom are imprisoned in Iraq. Among them are Fatima, Hassan, Abdullah, and Omayma, who are in Iraqi prisons. Meanwhile, Yaman, whose photo was also obtained by Al Arabiya.net, was killed with his father in Syria when al-Baghdadi detonated himself alongside two of his wives five years ago.
Asmaa, who married Ibrahim Awwad, known as al-Baghdadi, in 1999, revealed in her interview that her husband was arrested by US forces without reason in 2004. She explained that his ideas changed completely two years after he was released from prison. She indicated that her life with him was unstable from 2008 onwards, and they moved around a lot.
Additionally, she disclosed that al-Baghdadi, who became arrogant after taking leadership of ISIS, was very afraid of US drones. Earlier today, Iraqi judicial authorities officially announced that they had managed to recover the family of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated, "The statements of family members were recorded under the direct supervision of the specialized judge in the Karkh First Investigation Court, while investigations continue with them to uncover the main secrets of ISIS."
It is known that the leader of the organization, which controlled vast areas in Iraq and Syria in 2014, declaring his alleged "Caliphate" at that time, was killed in October 2019 after a US raid in a special operation in Idlib province in northwestern Syria. At that time, US President Donald Trump announced that a special forces team had tracked him down, but al-Baghdadi detonated himself along with his two wives and son.
