Lobna Ghanem, the ex-wife of Karim Selim (the Gatherer Slayer), who is accused of murdering three girls and torturing them, has filed a lawsuit to gain custody of their son instead of leaving him with the custody of her ex-husband's mother at the Family Court in Alexandria. She noted in the lawsuit that her son was raised in an environment that caused him significant psychological damage due to being with his father at the time the crimes were committed. She also emphasized that having her son with his grandmother, who justifies his father's crimes, is not a suitable environment for his upbringing.
### Crime Details
It is worth noting that the Public Prosecution revealed in June 2024 details of the crimes committed by "The Gatherer Slayer," who killed three girls and dumped their bodies in the desert after torturing them. The statement indicated that the accused used to meet girls online and took them to his apartment in a residential area in the Fifth Settlement in Cairo, where he would use drugs with them and then have intercourse. The statement further added that once the victims were under the influence of drugs, he would force them to take substances that induced unconsciousness, then torture and kill them while recording it on his phone.
### Shocking Confession
In a shocking confession proving that his son Zain was in the same house during the commission of the crimes, Karim stated that he left his third victim, "Amira," on the bed under the influence of drugs, went to take his son to school, and then returned to kill her. Regarding how he disposed of the body, he clarified that he put it in the same bag used for the second victim, "Rahma," and threw the body on the Port Said road, later discarding her clothes at another location on the same route. As if nothing had happened, he continued his way to Port Said to buy "ice" (a type of drug) and consumed five grams, according to his statements. He added, "I went back home, spent time with my son, and the next day the police came and arrested me."
Investigations revealed that Zain appeared clearly with the victims in videos found on the defendant's laptop, flash drive, and mobile phones, coinciding with the times of the crimes and being present at the crime scenes.
