Sources special to "Arabi Post" revealed today, Wednesday, that there is an "Iranian green light for Hezbollah" to escalate military actions against "Israel," but only if Israel begins a ground invasion of Rafah city in southern Gaza, fearing that southern Lebanon would be next. The report detailed preparations for the impending battle, amidst party information confirming Israel's intentions to launch a war against it.
High-ranking Iranian sources, and others close to Hezbollah in Lebanon, indicated that the party has informed the commanders of the Revolutionary Guard that it is certain of Israel's intentions to launch a significant attack on Lebanon, particularly after their operation in Rafah, which has not yet commenced. Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah discussed the matter with Esmail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, according to the sources, which stated that the latter "expressed an Iranian green light for Hezbollah to respond to Israel."
Regarding the details of their meeting, a source from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard told "Arabi Post," on the condition of anonymity, that the Quds Force commander visited the Lebanese capital Beirut on Monday, February 26, to meet with Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah leaders to discuss the latest developments, especially following the tensions that arose due to anger in Tehran over the "Safed operation" without coordinating with Tehran.
Concerning the possible timing of the Israeli attack on Lebanon, the Revolutionary Guard source stated: "Hassan Nasrallah informed Qaani that the attack could be imminent, likely during Ramadan or with Israel's invasion of Rafah city."
Another Iranian diplomatic source close to Hezbollah and familiar with this meeting confirmed the same information, stating to "Arabi Post": "Nasrallah is entirely sure of Tel Aviv's intentions to launch a wide-ranging attack on Lebanon and asked Qaani for full freedom in how to respond, as well as assistance in preparing the party to face this anticipated attack, with an Iranian green light for Hezbollah against Israel."
**Esmail Qaani "Supports" Hezbollah's Escalation with Israel**
Regarding the Revolutionary Guard's response to what was discussed in the meeting between Esmail Qaani and Hassan Nasrallah, the Iranian source from the Revolutionary Guard stated: "Qaani has viewed since the beginning of the Israeli escalation with Hezbollah that the party must provide a decisive response, although Iranian leader Ali Khamenei opposed this."
However, he clarified that "in the recent meeting in Lebanon, Qaani agreed on the necessity for the party to prepare for a possible Israeli attack and the need for a severe response to Tel Aviv," thereby giving Nasrallah the Iranian green light for Hezbollah to respond to the Israeli occupation.
Earlier, informed Iranian sources confirmed to "Arabi Post" that the senior Iranian leadership opposes Hezbollah's involvement in a wide-ranging conflict with Israel that could have negative consequences for the party. Nevertheless, leaders of the Revolutionary Guard and Quds Force Commander Esmail Qaani view that Hezbollah must respond strongly to the Israeli attacks and assassinations of party leaders and Lebanese civilians, "so that the Israelis do not think Hezbollah is weak before them," as confirmed by Iranian sources.
About the Nasrallah-Qaani meeting, another source from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard indicated that "Qaani's response was firm, stating that Hezbollah must fully prepare for a large-scale attack from Israel and plan an appropriate response to this expected attack, which Hassan Nasrallah anticipates."
According to the same source, Esmail Qaani informed senior Iranian leadership in Tehran of Hezbollah's decision to prepare for a broader conflict with Israel, including the plans that Hezbollah leaders proposed to respond should Tel Aviv launch a large-scale attack on Lebanon after invading Rafah in southern Gaza.
**More Iranian Arms to Hezbollah**
In the meeting between Esmail Qaani and Hassan Nasrallah, sources confirmed that "an agreement was made to send more modern Iranian weapons to Hezbollah to enhance its armament in facing a potential Israeli attack."
In this regard, a source from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard who attended the meeting told "Arabi Post": "Hassan Nasrallah requested from Qaani the shipment of more short- and medium-range ballistic missiles to Lebanon, as well as drones and communication and surveillance systems."
According to the spokesperson who requested anonymity, Qaani "approved Hassan Nasrallah's requests and instructed the leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Syria to open the Iranian weapon warehouses to Hezbollah without charge or prior instructions."
**Russian Weapons to Hezbollah**
In related news, Iranian sources disclosed that the weapons destined for Hezbollah in Lebanon will also include Russian communication and surveillance devices, along with jamming equipment via Syria.
Two sources from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard told "Arabi Post": "Russia will supply Hezbollah with surveillance ships and anti-ship missiles as well, which is something that Tehran has been discussing with it for a long time."
This comes after Tehran agreed to send Iranian missiles to Moscow, following delays fearing deterioration in relations with the United States and the West. However, Iranian sources mentioned that Iran now perceives that military cooperation with Moscow will positively impact Russia's support for the resistance axis led by Tehran in the region.
