Death of Actor Fadi Ibrahim: Politicians and Actors Mourn His Passing

Actor Fadi Ibrahim passed away at the age of 67 after a decline in his health. Over the years, Ibrahim was a prominent figure on Lebanese television, distinguished by his foreign features, partly inherited from his Australian mother. Fadi Ibrahim rose to fame through two series aired on Lebanon's Television: "Women in the Storm" and "The Storm Hits Twice." From 1995 to 1997, he became a television star with the character "Nader Sabbagh," a name that stayed with him for a long time and led him to the Lebanese theater with the play "Nader Mish Qader."

In addition to acting, he worked as a translator for documentary films for TV Lebanon and dubbed several animated films including "Belle and Sebastian" and "The Ship of Love." His theatrical works continued alongside Marwan Najar in the plays "The Rat's Game" and "My Aunt Najiba." He also presented the play "The Ellen Deal" outside Lebanon, directed by Lebanese-French director Nabil Al-Azhan, which was staged in 72 European cities over three years.

Fadi Ibrahim has six films to his credit, including "Night of the Wolves" in 1983 with Rafiq Ali Ahmed. He also participated in Iranian films about Imam Hussein, playing a monk.

Upon the announcement of his death, many politicians and friends from the acting community expressed their sorrow at his loss. MP Fouad Makhzoumi wrote, "Our heartfelt condolences to the family of actor Fadi Ibrahim and his loved ones, as well as to the Lebanese Actors’ Syndicate, which lost a giant of the screen and an artistic figure that stood out both locally and Arabically, leaving unforgettable marks on the small screen and theatre in the memory of Lebanese people."

MP Michel Moawad stated, "With the departure of the talented actor Fadi Ibrahim, Lebanese television loses its smile and grace, and the artistic community loses a shining star who left behind a rich legacy of series, films, and works that will immortalize his memory forever. Fadi Ibrahim from the screen to memory, farewell."

Producer Sadiq Al-Sabbagh expressed, "It is sad to lose Lebanese actor Fadi Ibrahim at the height of his career; he was exceptionally talented and performed dozens of works that left a mark on Lebanese drama. Peace to his soul and condolences to his large and small family."

Actress Carmen Lebbous wrote on "X": "I can't write or express, it's very tough." Actor Basel Mangnia remarked, "The number one star has ascended to heaven." Journalist Jumana Bou Eid said, "The great star Fadi Ibrahim has passed away. We lost a great creator in Lebanese and Arab drama. May God embrace him in mercy."

Rabia Al-Zayat noted, "He was not ordinary; he was extraordinary in his presence, smile, and talent. He created an unforgettable memory, this news is sad." Journalist Zahy Wahbi shared, "The star of Lebanese drama and its distinctive mark, the handsome boy of the screen and creator of amazing moments, forever laughing, Fadi Ibrahim, farewell."

Media personality Youssef Wahbi mourned on platform X, stating: "The storm will not blow again for the third time. The death of actor Fadi Ibrahim, the star of Lebanese television, dismounts from his horse at the height of his career." The head of the Lebanese Actors’ Syndicate, Ni'mat Badawi, also mourned Fadi Ibrahim in a statement released by the syndicate, saying: "With great sadness, we mourn our colleague in the Actors’ Syndicate, the noble and loving artist Fadi Ibrahim. May God have mercy on his kind and sincere soul."
