The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the execution of a Sudanese man as a form of retribution in the Mecca region after his conviction for killing a Sudanese woman, according to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Ministry of Interior stated: "Abdullah Mohamed Abdullah, a Sudanese national, killed Hawwa Salman Saleh, a Sudanese citizen, by stabbing her multiple times with a knife, resulting in her death due to a dispute between them," according to SPA.
The ministry added that "the security agencies were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation led to charges being filed against him for committing the crime. Upon referral to the competent court, a ruling was issued confirming his conviction based on the charges against him, and the death sentence was upheld by the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. A royal order was issued to enforce the mandated legal ruling," as stated in the announcement.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that "the execution of the death sentence was carried out against Abdullah Mohamed Abdullah, a Sudanese national, on Monday, 1/2/1446 Hijri, corresponding to 5/8/2024 AD, in the Mecca region."
