Mikati from Paris: The Lebanese Flag Will Continue to Wave Everywhere

Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his wife Ms. May visited the Lebanese delegation at the Summer Olympics hosted by the French capital, Paris, at their headquarters in the Olympic Village. They were welcomed by the President of the Olympic Committee Pierre Jalakh, Secretary-General Joudat Shaker, Head of the Delegation Lawyer Francois Saadeh, and members of the delegation. Jalakh expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister's visit, highlighting "the great efforts he is making" and affirming that "the Lebanese delegation will spare no effort to achieve ambitious results."

For his part, the Prime Minister expressed his delight and happiness at Lebanon's participation in this grand international sporting event, emphasizing his pride in the Lebanese athletes participating in the Olympics. He stated, "I am very happy and pleased with the presence of Lebanese athletes at the Olympics, and with the participation of the Lebanese Olympic Committee in every sporting event. This is a tremendous effort and work. I know that it takes a lot of their time, but this comes from their deep belief in Lebanon."

Mikati expressed his pride "in the Lebanese athletes who represent Lebanon, and I sincerely hope they achieve victory and win the necessary medals." He continued, "We are in a difficult situation, and as the primary responsible person in the state, my goal is to preserve it and its entity. At the same time, it is the duty of the Olympic Committee and the athletes to represent Lebanon and show sportsmanship at every international meeting, and God willing, we will continue to see the Lebanese flag waving everywhere."

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Ms. Brigitte received Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his wife Ms. May at the Élysée Palace in Paris as part of the participation in the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
