"The Forces": "The National Current is Like a Firefighter Obsessed with Fires and Is Behind Igniting Them"

The media department of the "Lebanese Forces" party stated in a statement that "the National Current has recently embarked on a campaign claiming fictional heroics by asserting its opposition to unfair appointments against Christians that the government intended to approve. It doesn't stop there, but rather seeks to attack political forces, including the Lebanese Forces, which contradicts the facts for the following reasons:

1. The current caretaker government was the last government of President Michel Aoun's term and gained the confidence of the "National Current" in Parliament, while the sovereign parliamentary opposition, including the Lebanese Forces, withheld its confidence from it.

2. The government that Deputy Gibran Bassil opposes is composed of a single color, and he holds the lion's share in it.

3. It sufficed for the ally of the "National Current," the "Hezbollah" party, to refuse to participate in this government's meetings for its sessions to be disrupted; thus, the issue is internal within that team. Furthermore, Deputy Bassil has repeatedly declared that he still supports the party in its alleged defense of Lebanon.

4. The existing problems would not have occurred had a president been elected, and the entity preventing the election of a president is the ally team of Deputy Bassil, namely the resistance, whose conflict with this team is of an authoritative nature, not a principled one.

5. If the claims of the current were true, it would have been able to object to the meetings of the government in general, but it did not do so for known reasons and as part of its campaigns of bidding that it excels at.

6. What halted these appointments were extensive political communications undertaken by a group of forces and personalities, starting from Bkirki and extending to the "Lebanese Forces," along with other political parties and figures, by engaging with President Najib Mikati and a range of ministers to pressure for the removal of this item from the government agenda, while the current is incapable of influencing the government, with countless examples ranging from its inability to object to the appointment of the Chief of Staff of the Army to its objection to government meetings.

As usual, the "National Current" commits the tragedy and rushes to blame others, akin to a Pyromane Pompier, that is, a firefighter obsessed with fires who claims to be addressing these fires that he himself ignited."
