Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al Nassr, made his first appearance following the tumultuous events experienced on Sunday night after losing the Saudi Super Cup. Al Nassr suffered a humiliating defeat to their rival Al Hilal (1-4) in the final of the Saudi Super Cup, held last Saturday at Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Sports City in Abha.
After the final whistle, Ronaldo left the field without receiving the silver medal designated for players of the second-place team, which sparked controversy in Saudi sports circles.
He did not show any reaction, as is customary after his team's matches, and did not post any messages on his social media accounts. His appearance since the previous night was with former Al Hilal player Hattan Bahbri.
Bahbri shared a photo on his official account on X, featuring him with Ronaldo at the MOVE sports medicine facility, commenting, "The historic Ronaldo... a beautiful coincidence meeting the legend today during my appointment at the MOVE center." He concluded, "A great personality and an inspiration for every athlete."
At 39 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo has struggled to overcome Al Hilal since joining Al Nassr, winning only once against them in the Arab Club Champions Cup final.
