Information Division Arrests Suspect in the Act

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division has issued the following statement: "As part of the ongoing follow-up by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces to track down those involved in drug trafficking and promotion across various Lebanese regions, intelligence was gathered regarding an individual who was promoting drugs in several areas of Mount Lebanon. Immediately, orders were given to the specialized units in the Information Division to take field and investigative measures to identify and apprehend the identified promoter. Following investigations and inquiries, the division was able to ascertain his identity, identified as M. S. (born in 1971, Lebanese), who was wanted under a summary judgment for the crime of transporting firearms and ammunition.

On March 11, 2024, after surveillance operations, one of the division's patrols managed to arrest him in the act in the Al-Mashrifiya area while he was promoting drugs from a silver "Kia" vehicle, which was seized. Upon searching him and the vehicle, the following was confiscated: 19 capsules of cocaine weighing approximately 85.5 grams, 18 envelopes of cocaine weighing approximately 28 grams, 19 envelopes of "Baz" weighing approximately 10 grams, 4 capsules of "Cocaine Net" weighing approximately 18.8 grams, 9 capsules, and 6 empty envelopes with traces of cocaine, 11 pieces of hashish weighing approximately 220 grams, a sum of money, and a mobile phone.

During the interrogation, he confessed to the charges of promoting drugs for a dealer in various areas of Mount Lebanon including Furn El Chebbak, Gallery Siman, Al-Mashrifiya, Dora, Jal El Dib, and Dbayeh, using the vehicle he was stopped with. The "Kia" vehicle was legally confiscated, and legal action was taken against M. S., who was then referred along with the seized items to the relevant authority based on judicial directives."
