Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah announced on Thursday that the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has ordered compensation payments for the families of those who died in the Minkaf building fire. Al-Yousef Al-Sabah stated that the Emir of Kuwait has also ordered military planes to be prepared to transport the bodies back to their home countries. The Interior Minister, who was leading an inspection campaign on illegal properties alongside officials from various government agencies, noted that the Kuwaiti Minister of Works promised to expedite new legislation allowing government agencies to immediately remove violations without warning. The government has managed to identify 48 individuals who died in the fire, including 45 Indian nationals and 3 Philippine nationals, with efforts ongoing to identify one more deceased person. The Emir of Kuwait directed officials to promptly investigate the causes of the fire in the labor building in the Minkaf area and to hold those responsible accountable to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
