Iranian President Massoud Beizakian affirmed to Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi on Sunday that the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniya "will not go unanswered." Beizakian stated that "the assassination of a guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran is a violation of all international laws and a significant error by the Zionists." He emphasized that "the Islamic Republic of Iran expects all Islamic nations and free peoples of the world to strongly condemn such crimes," asserting that "this Zionist arrogance will not go unanswered."
The Iranian president expressed hope that "discussions between the diplomatic delegations of Iran and Jordan regarding the resumption of relations would progress more quickly so that the two Islamic countries could benefit from each other's capabilities," adding that "the region would also benefit from this friendship and constructive cooperation."
Al-Safadi conveyed his warm greetings, congratulations, and best wishes to the Iranian president for success, stating that "Jordan seeks to resume relations with the Islamic Republic and work together to achieve stability and security." He mentioned that "Jordan has strongly condemned the brutal aggression of the Zionist regime against Gaza from the outset," and referred to his country's denunciation of the assassination of Ismail Haniya, describing this act as an attempt by Netanyahu to expand the circle of conflicts in the region."
The Jordanian Foreign Minister also expressed his country's desire to expand relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, announcing that he would discuss ways to enhance relations between the two countries during this visit.
