On Wednesday, Hamas stated that the remarks made by the head of the investigation committee, Navi Pillay, are a new UN confirmation of "Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip." Hamas explained in a statement: "Pillay's remarks are a new affirmation from a high-ranking UN entity of the atrocities committed by the criminal Zionist occupation army and its ongoing offenses in the Gaza Strip and all our occupied lands, which are unjustifiable crimes and violations aimed at implementing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and displacement against our Palestinian people."
The movement praised the "international effort to document the occupation's crimes and condemn its violations and to uphold international justice." However, it expressed regret that "the victim is equated with the aggressor" and rejected the continuous repetition of the occupation's accusations against the Palestinian resistance, which have been proven false through independent reports and investigations.
Hamas called upon "the international community, the United Nations, and all human rights organizations to work to halt the crimes against the Palestinian people and to support the efforts of the International Court of Justice in holding the rogue Zionist entity and its war criminal leaders accountable," affirming that it considers this "a collective responsibility and a legal and moral duty to stop the ongoing genocide being perpetrated under the watchful eyes of the entire world."
Navi Pillay, the head of the UN investigation committee, announced on Wednesday that "Israel has killed and caused the disability of tens of thousands of children in Gaza, and thousands more may also be trapped under the rubble due to Israeli airstrikes." She noted in a speech during a meeting regarding the committee's report, on the sidelines of the 56th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, that "the Israeli war has severely impacted the infrastructure necessary for the well-being of children, including hospitals, schools, and essential services."
