Egypt's Ambassador to Russia, Nazir Al-Najari, warned Israel during a meeting of Middle Eastern countries that are members of BRICS, attended by the Commissioner of UNRWA, against carrying out any military operations in Rafah. In his speech during the meeting, the Egyptian Ambassador emphasized the seriousness of "the situation in the Middle East due to the continued Israeli aggression against Gaza and the increasing chances of this conflict extending to other countries in the region." He noted the necessity for the international community to fulfill its responsibility to compel Israel to respect international law and adhere to Security Council Resolution 2728, which calls for an immediate ceasefire, as well as Resolution 2720 to ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza in the required quantities. The Egyptian Ambassador also highlighted the importance of supporting UNRWA's efforts in combating movements aimed at dismantling the agency and eliminating its role, pointing out that the BRICS gathering includes several influential countries on the international stage and stressing the importance of these countries making a tangible contribution to restoring stability to the region.
