Imprisonment of the Owner of the Famous

It can be said that there is no country that uses the internet where the controversial dress image has not circulated, baffling social media users between those who see it as yellow and white, and others who perceive it as white and blue. Behind the viral spread of this dress is a man living on the island of Collonsay on the west coast of Scotland, as the dress belonged to his mother-in-law, who wore it at his wedding.

In the latest developments, the man who was responsible for the widespread dissemination of this dress in 2015 admitted to strangling his wife and placing her life in danger. Kieran Johnstone, 38, appeared before the High Court in Glasgow, acknowledging his guilt in the attack on his wife, Grace Johnstone, according to the Daily Record newspaper.

The paper reported that the prosecutor informed the court how the wife lived in fear of her husband, who had abused her for years, saying, "The police are not always present on Collonsay Island where they live, which made the wife feel trapped and in danger all the time."

In her testimony, the wife recounted an incident where she once refused her husband's demands, prompting him to grab her, throw her to the ground, kneel on her arms to immobilize her, and then begin to strangle her with both hands.

Johnstone, from the island of Collonsay off the west coast of Scotland, has been imprisoned until sentencing next month, scheduled for June 6, 2024.

Johnstone gained worldwide attention due to "The Dress" when he shared a photo of his mother-in-law's dress worn at his wedding in 2015 online, where some saw it as golden and white while others insisted it was blue and white. At that time, headlines stated that the debate over the dress's true colors "broke the internet," attracting thousands of comments, including from celebrities like Kim Kardashian, who confirmed that she had an argument with her husband over the dress's color.
