Khalil Al-Hayya, the Deputy Head of Hamas in Gaza, stated that "the crime of the Zionist occupation in the Al-Daraj neighborhood confirms its ongoing intent to annihilate our people." Al-Hayya pointed out that "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a green light from the U.S. during his recent visit to Washington, which did not take any action," demanding "the Security Council to convene an emergency meeting to stop these massacres and the Zionist aggression," and calling for "a genuine international, Arab, and Islamic resolution that compels this criminal enemy to halt these atrocities against our people." He added, "All those killed in the massacres of the occupation are women and children, and there is absolutely no justification for targeting our people," noting that "the occupation is incapable of confronting the resistance, and in its helplessness, it unleashes its anger on innocent civilians." While stating that "the goal of the occupation authorities from their continuous massacres is the forced displacement of the residents of the Gaza Strip and compelling them to leave," Al-Hayya said, "What is needed now is a genuine Arab and Islamic stance to penalize the occupation, such as closing embassies and withdrawing ambassadors." Early on Saturday, Israel targeted the "Taibeen" school in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of hundreds.
