The Egyptian government has reported that "80% of the total humanitarian aid to Gaza has been provided by Egypt." Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi directed the General Committee for Foreign Aid to offer all types of support and assistance to the Palestinian people and to coordinate with all concerned parties. Moselhi noted that "Egypt has made diligent efforts to support the people of Gaza by sending urgent relief aid given the current conditions in the region." He affirmed that "the volume of humanitarian aid provided by Egypt amounts to about 80% or more of the total aid that has entered Gaza."
Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathi, Deputy Head of the General Committee for Foreign Aid, stated that "the committee, in collaboration with the Catholic Relief Agency, is in the process of implementing the first phase of aerial aid for the residents of the region." He added that the first plane, out of a total of four expected aid planes, arrived today, carrying 5,000 tents, each capable of accommodating 16 individuals, totaling 80,000 individuals. Fathi continued that "the General Committee for Foreign Aid will spare no effort to stand by our brothers in Gaza during these humanitarian conditions, as it will continue to coordinate with all relevant parties to prepare the requests of our Palestinian brothers for the eighth convoy."
