Beqaa: Syrian Killed After Attempting to Stab Soldiers

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement today, Saturday: "On May 10, 2024, during an attempt by a unit of the army, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, to apprehend a number of smugglers in the Deir al-Achayr area – Beqaa, a Syrian national (K.H.) attempted to stab the unit's personnel with a bayonet. They fired at him, resulting in his injury. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. Another Syrian national (A.W.) has been arrested, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other involved parties. An investigation has been initiated with the detained individual under judicial supervision."
