A statement was issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division as follows: "On the morning of May 13, 2024, a body of a transgender young man was found along the roadside in the Dora area - coastal road, with a pool of blood nearby. A patrol from the Scientific Research and Criminal Evidence Bureau within the Judicial Police Unit soon arrived at the scene. After the forensic doctor examined the body, it was discovered that it had sustained a stab wound to the face (near the eye), and two capsules containing narcotic substances were found beside it.
Immediately, the specialized units in the Information Division began their procedures at the location of the discovery of the body. After following up in the area, it was determined that around 2:00 AM on the mentioned date, a white "B.M." type car without a rear plate arrived at the scene, stopping for about two minutes. Then, a person exited from the right side of the vehicle and pulled another person from inside it, leading to a scuffle between them. Subsequently, the first individual who got out of the vehicle threw the victim to the ground, struck him on the head, and cut his clothes with a sharp object, then left in the mentioned vehicle toward an unknown direction.
Following an inquiry by the division, it was revealed that the mentioned vehicle contained two individuals: R. Q. (born in 1982, Lebanese) and M. K. (born in 2002, Syrian). Consequently, orders were given to locate and arrest them.
On May 14, 2024, following close surveillance and monitoring, a special force from the division executed a simultaneous operation that resulted in the arrest of the first suspect in the Jal el-Dib area and the second in the Sad el-Bouchrieh area.
During the investigation, the second suspect confessed to committing the murder by stabbing the victim due to a quarrel related to sexual activities, while the first suspect claimed he was driving the vehicle and that a fight occurred between them and the victim, but he did not strike or harm the victim, stating that it was the second suspect who did so.
The body has been placed in a morgue in the Burj Hammoud area to be later handed over to the authorities according to procedures. Legal actions were taken against the two arrested individuals, and they were referred to the competent authority based on judicial directives."
