"The Devilish Mind" Ignites Controversy Between "The Forces" and "The National Movement"

In response to a statement from the Lebanese Forces, the "Free Patriotic Movement" wrote via its official account on "X": "We do not know why the President of the Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea, considered himself the one addressed by the description of having a devilish militia mindset and felt compelled to respond... perhaps because he is the one who knows himself best."

The Lebanese Forces' statement had come from their media office, stating:

Deputy Jibran Bassil said, "We will not allow the devilish militia mindset to take us on suicidal adventures as it did in the past during the Lebanese war.” The statement expressed a hope that Deputy Bassil would display clarity and transparency and name whom he was referring to in his remarks, noting that those who led the country into suicidal adventures were his ally in the understanding document, "Hezbollah", starting from the July 2006 war up to the war of October 8, 2023, including the events of May 7, 2008.

The statement continued: "Those listening to Deputy Bassil might momentarily think that he is not an ally of the party's militia, and that he does not seek to continue the alliance with it, while the only disagreement he has with the party stems from its support for the nomination of former minister Sleiman Frangieh, and not because of its suicidal adventures or because it is a militia. In fact, he is fully prepared to agree with the party on any other candidate besides Frangieh despite it being a militia and having led Lebanon into suicidal adventures. It is clear to everyone that the goal of his posturing and positions is to attempt to cover up what he is suffering from internal crises within his movement."
