The Secretary-General of "Ahrar al-Haq," Qais Khazali, affirmed on Friday that his coalition does not target the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Falih al-Fayyadh, while discussing "resistant military action" against the U.S. presence in Iraq. In a special interview, Khazali stated: "We do not target al-Fayyadh; we speak clearly and frankly about issues we have an opinion on, but there is absolutely no targeting. I believe that brother Falih al-Fayyadh is a political figure with depth, experience, and performance, and because of this national performance, he has paid the price and has been placed on the 'black list'."
Regarding foreign presence, he added: "If there is no resistant military action along with diplomatic negotiations, U.S. forces will not leave the country," emphasizing that "the presence of resistant action to force U.S. troops’ withdrawal to achieve the country’s full sovereignty is a duty."
On the future of the framework coalition leadership, Khazali continued: "The brothers who were present in all previous political experiences, such as the National Alliance and others, acknowledged that the best situation that produced a decision or achieved results is the framework coalition, which is stronger than previous experiences." He noted that "the framework coalition was able to confront a triangular alliance, to address political blockage, to form a government, to choose a prime minister, to amend the election law, and to conduct elections in the provinces."
