Libya Starts Operation of New Pipeline

The National Oil Corporation in Libya announced today, Sunday, that it has commenced the operation of a new pipeline from the North Hamada oil field, which is expected to initially transport 2,000 barrels per day. In a statement, the corporation mentioned that it is expected that the North Hamada field, operated by the Nofousa Oil Operations Company, will gradually increase oil flow in the pipeline "until reaching 25,000 barrels per day, after which pumping will start at a rate of 4,500 barrels per day. This will increase with the production wells gradually reaching 10,000 barrels per day by September 2024, which is the first phase development program for the field." The National Oil Corporation added that the 50-kilometer pipeline, which transports oil production to the Mellitah port, has a design capacity of 70,000 barrels per day.
