A leaked video of a phone call between Republican candidate Donald Trump and independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy the day after Trump’s assassination attempt provides insight into the former president's efforts to persuade Kennedy to exit the race and join his camp. The video was first posted on Tuesday on the platform "X" by Kennedy's eldest son, only to be quickly removed.
BREAKING: In a stunning leak, Robert F. Kennedy Jr and Donald Trump appear to be colluding, with Trump saying “we will win”. This is totally corrupt. Retweet so all Americans know RFK Jr. is nothing more than a spoiler candidate working to help Trump.
Kennedy apologized for the leaked video, stating on "X": "When President Trump called me, I was recording with a videographer; I should have asked the videographer to stop recording immediately. I’m embarrassed this was posted."
Through Kennedy's phone microphone, Trump can be heard expressing his concerns about vaccinations given to infants, an issue closely tied to Kennedy. Trump stated, “I want to do small doses, which seem like they are for horses, not for a child weighing 10 pounds or 20 pounds.”
Trump then attempts to garner Kennedy's support, saying, “I would like you to do something. I think it would be very good for you, and we will win.” Kennedy, wearing a shirt and tie, replies with "yes," and throughout the video, he does not say anything else.
Trump briefly described his last call with President Biden, sharing that he asked about the bullet that nearly hit him in Pennsylvania. He added, "He was very nice, actually; he called me and said, why did you choose to move to the right?"
Trump and Kennedy met in person on Monday in Milwaukee before the Republican National Convention, sparking rumors that Kennedy plans to withdraw from the election.
