During a tourism celebration held at the Rashid Karami International Exhibition in Tripoli, titled "I Love You in Your North," organized by the company "Creel," the Minister of Tourism in the caretaker government, Walid Nassar, emphasized that this collective scene reflects the true image of Lebanon, hoping it would extend to the political landscape for the salvation of Lebanon. Nassar announced the launch of the advertising campaign for Summer 2024, which will take place in two weeks from Beirut, stating, "Just as we nominated 'Welcome to This View,' which won an Arab award, hopefully the 2024 campaign will win a global award."
The grand celebration featured a performance by the internationally renowned artist Michel Fadel, who illuminated the skies of Tripoli and the North with enchantment and beauty. In the exhibition, pillars representing the Lebanese home swayed to national tunes that delighted the audience, shining a light on the important environmental, cultural, and heritage tourist sites in the North, starting with Tripoli, which received the largest share through the honoring of the Rashid Karami International Exhibition and its key cultural tourist landmarks like the Al-Sabaa Tower, the Citadel, caravanserais, the Palm Islands, and the House of Art. Additionally, two women were honored for showcasing Tripoli in its finest light: Najat al-Ee and Badriya, along with Bushra Baghdadi.
The association "Imkan," represented by its president Ahmad Hashmi, was also recognized for its remarkable cultural rally in Tripoli, which was held for the first time. The event included the distribution of participation certificates to the top three official secondary schools that won the competition.
Honor was conferred to the Ehden region through the Ehden Nature Reserve and the Museum of Taxidermy and the Fadrous, as well as to Bsharri for the Gibran Khalil Gibran Museum, the Qadisha Valley, and the Patriarchs' Garden. The Koura district was recognized for the Al-Joz River trail, and Batroun for the Expatriate House, in addition to Akkar for the silk factory in Qoubayat, and the Wadi Ouadine in Annadek, along with Mniyeh through the Mirador and the Dinniyeh region for the Zuhlan Cave.
The event saw the attendance of high-profile political and diplomatic figures, including the Ministers of Tourism, Information, and Justice, as well as northern MPs Tony Franjieh, William Tawk, Fadi Karam, Ashraf Rifi, Ihab Matar, George Attallah, Assad Dergham, Adeeb Abdul Massih, Walid al-Ba‘rini, Abdulaziz al-Samad, Eli Khoury, Hadi Habish, Amal Abu Zaid, Qassem Abdul Aziz, and representatives for the head of the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Kataeb Party, in addition to prominent economic and media figures. The event also featured the representative from the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Brian Baron, along with the Egyptian Ambassador Alaa Moussa and the Secretary-General of the Arab Tourism Organization, Sherif Atiyah.
The ceremony kicked off with a choir led by coach Tony Al-Bayih, gathering youth from Zgharta region and the Balamand University, while the Ehden Dance ignited the atmosphere, adding a special charm to the event.
