Qassem: The Only Path to Liberation is Armed Resistance

Sheikh Naeem Qassem, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, indicated that "America is not exerting enough pressure to stop the war; it is still maneuvering because it is softly pressuring Israel and raising slogans that affirm Israel's right to continue fighting to eliminate the resistance. How can these two things be reconciled? If America wanted to stop the war, it could have done so. When it maneuvers to distinguish itself so that the people do not accuse it of bias, America is indeed biased and is primarily responsible for the crimes of Israeli extermination, because without America, there would be no munitions for killing, no weapons for killing, and no global gathering of Western powers to support Israel in its excesses that have killed 40,000 men, women, and children in a horrific manner unprecedented in history."

In his speech during a commissioning ceremony held by the "Nur" Association for Education and Teaching in Beirut, Qassem added: "Israel has deteriorated, and America and the West have deteriorated alongside it, as have the values they have promoted in the name of capitalism and Western values. These human monsters in the Israeli entity are now besieged by humanity across the world, as we see demonstrations in universities and streets in Western countries and America, with writers, lawmakers, and opinion holders, many of whom have changed their views on the Israeli entity. The Palestinian cause has become the foremost and just cause in the world today, and Israel has become the number one enemy of humanity worldwide due to its practices. This is considered an achievement for Palestine, not for Israel. Here, we must extend our sincere greetings to the struggling Palestinian people because they deserve life and will prevail no matter how long it takes."

He continued: "In Lebanon, Hezbollah has decided to confront Israel on the southern front in support of Gaza, and this resistance performance has been exemplary, qualitative, and impactful. If we observe the number of operations every day, there are targeted hits and losses for the Israeli enemy; there is no shell, missile, or aircraft without a target. This indicates a qualitative capability and a qualitative performance that inflicts pain on the Israeli enemy, placing it in a position of necessity to stop the war in Gaza."

He pointed out that "this confrontation undertaken by the Islamic resistance in Lebanon, along with all resistance fighters, will create a model of deterrence that will be evident once the war concludes, as this model was present and developed after the 2006 aggression, where Israel was deterred; it will also be deterred, God willing, after these battles."

Qassem stated: "There are four essential things for deterring the enemy: First, preparing strength, which is what we have done because without strength, you cannot defeat the enemy; second, resistance must take action in the field to confront and defend to protect your people, country, and project; third, preparation for high thresholds of escalation even if it leads to a comprehensive war, so the enemy understands that it cannot threaten us with escalation since we are prepared for it, and this deters it from escalating; fourth, fear of death should not exist, as death is in the hands of God Almighty, "And when their term comes, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede it." Therefore, the enemy will neither advance nor delay due to weakness; these four points have empowered the resistance."

He concluded: "The resistance proves day after day that its strength on the ground is what restores rights; we cannot regain our rights through the United Nations, and Palestine cannot be returned through the international community, nor can the land be reclaimed and the occupation stopped through the Security Council. The only path to liberation is armed resistance, and this has been proven through experience and is what we believe. The West and America usually strive to make us weak; why do they always work in our region to prevent us from arming ourselves? Even when the Lebanese army wants to arm itself and requests weapons, they say this weapon is permitted and this one is not, and why is this weapon prohibited? Because it could hit an Israeli aircraft or reach the Lebanese-Palestinian borders. They do not agree to armament that holds capability, while the resistance has surpassed this issue because it did not seek permission from anyone and does not need anyone. Thank God who has guided us to make our resistance today principled, realistic, courageous, and wise; thus, God Almighty grants it success after success."
