The Owner of the Dress that Bewildered Millions... Tried to Kill His Wife!

Who does not remember the dress that puzzled millions in 2015 after it spread like wildfire on the internet, amidst a debate about whether it was gold and white or blue and black? However, the news this time does not concern the color of the dress, but rather its owner, who shared its picture several years ago.

Kerr Johnston, 38 years old, has been sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison and is prohibited from contacting his wife for 10 years. The reason stems from his violent assault on his wife, Grace, during which he strangled her for 20 seconds in their home in March 2022, attempting to kill her. The Glasgow court that adjudicated the case determined that Johnston has a long history of abusing his wife. The judge noted that Johnston strangled his wife for nearly 20 seconds, suggesting that he intended to kill her, according to Sky News.

Prosecutor Chris MacIntosh explained that Grace received text messages from her husband complaining that she had not done enough to support him. When she returned home that day, she found him asleep. "My husband is trying to kill me." However, upon waking, he told her he would leave her, beat her, forced her to the ground, and strangled her with both hands. One witness heard her screaming and tried to intervene, causing Johnston to stop momentarily before returning with a knife, threatening to end her life.

The wife sustained visible bruises on her neck from the assault and sent messages to her friends requesting help, calling the police and saying, "My husband is trying to kill me." According to the network, Johnston pleaded guilty last month to assaulting his wife, which resulted in her injuries and put her life in danger.

In 2015, both Kerr and Grace made headlines around the world when a picture of the dress worn by the mother of the bride at their wedding sparked an online debate regarding its color, with many people insisting it was gold and white, while it was actually black and blue. Millions around the globe participated in the discussion about the dress’s color, including many celebrities like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Kim Kardashian. The couple received $10,000 for their appearance on the famous "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in the United States.
