The Netflix platform is preparing to discontinue its application services on 14 smart TVs produced by Sony in 2014, prompting users to seek alternative devices to maintain viewing access. The platform intends to halt its app support on Sony Bravia TVs on July 24th, which will impact users in the UK, Europe, and the United States, according to the Daily Mail.
Users who do not wish to replace their devices will need to spend between $20 to $50 to purchase auxiliary devices such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku, or Google Chromecast to retain access to Netflix services. This decision follows Netflix's cessation of support for several Sony TVs manufactured in 2012 and 2013 back in December.
