Rescue of 15 Workers After Massive Fire in Choueifat

The General Director of the Civil Defense, Brigadier General Raymond Khattar, arrived at the site of the massive fire that broke out at 3:00 PM yesterday, Thursday, inside a feed storage facility belonging to a livestock farm in Choueifat, to oversee the ongoing firefighting operations. Brigadier General Khattar provided directives to the personnel on the necessity of continuing to extinguish the flames and consistently rotating the firefighting teams. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to all public safety standards during the firefighting operations to ensure the safety of the personnel.

The teams managed to rescue 15 workers who were trapped on the roof of the building, escaping the flames, and evacuated a group of cows from inside the storage facility. They carried out firefighting operations under extremely difficult conditions due to the thick smoke resulting from the fire. It is noteworthy that the storage facility exceeds 5,000 square meters and contains tons of highly flammable feed, which contributed to the rapid escalation and spread of the fire throughout the facility.
