A security source reported on Thursday that the well-known social media personality named "Ruqyah Rahim," nicknamed "Abbas Al-Rakabi," was arrested on charges of promoting indecent content. The source stated that the arrest took place in Baghdad based on a judicial warrant concerning indecent content.

Earlier in mid-2023, a security source revealed that the Iraqi judiciary issued a summons against (Ruqyah Rahim), known as "Abbas Al-Rakabi," for investigation regarding the crime of indecent act as reported by the complainant (public right). The source noted that Ruqyah sometimes appears as a female and at other times as a male. In a previous incident, she used tinted government vehicles and called from a wireless device in a public street.

Over a year ago, Ruqyah appeared in a scandalous video recording exposing her upper body, which sparked outrage among social media users in Iraq. "Abbas Al-Rakabi" is a well-known figure on the TikTok application and has followers from both inside and outside Iraq, although there is controversy over her identity due to her appearances as both a girl and a boy. Initially, she appeared as a girl named "Ruqyah," before transforming into "Abbas," and most recently emerged in women's clothing while highlighting her feminine features, naming herself "Rama."
