After a Harassment Attempt... African Woman Jumps from a Vehicle in Egypt

The Giza prosecution in Egypt has decided to detain a driver for 4 days pending investigations, accusing him of harassing a girl "who holds the nationality of an African country" while she was using a ride-hailing service to be transported from the Mohandessin area to her residence in the Boulaq Dakrour police precinct. The Egyptian Ministry of Interior's security apparatus uncovered the circumstances surrounding the incident of a girl falling from a vehicle belonging to a ride-hailing application.

The Ministry of Interior monitored what was circulated on social media regarding the girl's fall from a vehicle linked to a ride-hailing service in Giza, which resulted in her being injured. Upon examination, it was found that on July 26, the Giza security services received a report from a girl "holding the nationality of an African country" stating that while she was in a vehicle "belonging to a ride-hailing application" transporting her from the Mohandessin area to her residence in the Boulaq Dakrour police precinct, the driver attempted to sexually harass her, prompting her to jump from the vehicle, which led to multiple bruises on her body as the driver fled the scene.

Following legal procedures, the perpetrator was identified and arrested; he is a driver residing in the Talbiya police precinct, "injured after she attacked him following his attempt to harass her." Legal measures have been taken, and the case is being presented to the public prosecutor. It is worth noting that incidents of harassment by drivers from ride-hailing companies have recently increased in Egypt.
