On Saturday, the Mount Mercy Hospital in Saudi Arabia witnessed the first birth at the Arafat pilgrimage site for the year 2024. A Pakistani mother gave birth to a child after ascending Mount Arafat as part of the Hajj rituals.
The birth of the 34-year-old Pakistani woman was recorded at Mount Mercy Hospital, marking the first delivery of a pilgrim during this year’s Hajj. Saudi media outlets aired a video of the newborn, who was welcomed by the hospital on the day of Arafat.
The attending physician revealed that the Pakistani mother delivered the baby after a 37-week pregnancy, and the newborn weighs 3 kilograms and 40 grams. The baby is in good condition, fully developed, with excellent vital signs, and the mother has no prior medical history; this is her third delivery.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Ministry of Health announced on the same day that no epidemic cases or infectious diseases have been reported among pilgrims.
